International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Date : 2023-12-04 Time : 10:30:00On Monday, 5/20/1445 AH, the University College of Al-Khurma held an event for male and female students under the slogan “International Day of Persons with Disabilities.” The event was presented by Dr. Husham Ibrahim Sharada, Student Section, Dr. Hanan Mohamed Kamel, female section.
The event aimed to increase the awareness of faculty members about the types of disabilities, the characteristics of people with disabilities, and how to deal with them in keeping with the International Day of People with Disabilities, through statistics on the numbers and percentages of people with disabilities. The concept of disability, its types, and the methods that lead to it were introduced, in addition to presenting the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Taif University, and the Care Unit for Students with Disabilities at Al-Khurma University College in caring for people with disabilities.
On the sidelines of that event, an exhibition was held in the female section on the occasion of International Disability Day entitled “Disability is not the end of life.” The exhibition included seven corners, each corner dealing with a category of disability, in addition to holding a competition for the best phrase that could be written on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
